Level 1 Wild Pottery
2-day course covering details about digging wild clay, including how to find it in the landscape. We go into depth on the technicals of how to prep the clay, making it strong enough to survive an open firing.
Level 1 is a required* foundation for Level 1.5 and also for Level 2.

Level 1.5 Wild Pottery
2-day course with time to develop your handbuilding skills. You’ll  learn a firing technique to create black pots, which is a development of the firing we do on Level 1.

Level 2 Wild Pottery
3-day course introducing earth pigments to decorate your pots. We’ll build a clamp kiln to fire your pots, a further development of the firing method learned on Level 1.
You don’t have to have attended Level 1.5 to join Level 2, only Level 1 is required.

Enjoy an immersive week of Wild Pottery, with onsite accommodation options and time between courses to explore the local area:

In July 2025, Level 1 & Level 1.5 run on consecutive weekends (July 5/6 & 11/12)
In September 2025, Level 1 & Level 2 run on consecutive weekends (Sept 13/14 & 18/19/20)

The discount package allows you to join an alternative Level 1 course if you can’t make the July or September dates. You’ll find date options via the Booking buttons below.

*Very occasionally I can waiver the prerequisite of Level 1, if you have previous experience of successfully firing wild clay pots in an open fire. Please get in touch if this is the case for you, with details of your experience.
